Angel Food Cake
12 Egg Whites at Room Temperature |
1 cup Cake Flour |
1 1/2 cups Granulated Sugar |
1 1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar |
1 1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract |
1/2 tsp Pure Almond Extract |
1/4 tsp Salt |
Angel Food Cake Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Add egg whites, salt, cream of tartar, vanilla extract, almond extract to mixer
- Mix on medium speed until frothy
- Turn speed to medium high, start adding sugar slowly, 1 tablespoon at a time
- Which until egg whites have reached semi-stiff peaks
- Use a spatula, fold in cake flour gently 1/3 at a time
- Pour batter into tube pan, run knife or skewer through batter to remove air bubbles
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the cakes springs back and a toothpick comes out clean
- Remove from oven, immediate invert and let cool for 2 hours or until completely cool
- Remove from pan, slice, serve, enjoy
